We drove to Raleigh the weekend of November 15-17 for John's team to participate in their annual Shootout Invitational tournament.  We played teams from Virginia and Florida in the rain, and were set to play a team from North Carolina when the tournament was cancelled for rain.  The weather was bad, but we had fun.  Here are some highlights.  (Drew stayed in Atlanta to attend a church retreat.)

John fresh from the trip, playing XBox in a teammate's room, and watching his buddies horse around in the lobby.
On his forehead:  the admission stamp from the previous night's ACC championship semifinal match.

Fun and games in the hall (the Holiday Inn Express in Apex, NC was very tolerant)

More fun

Scenes from the one game where I was able to get some pictures between rainstorms.

At the field for our 7:15am Sunday game - we learned after we arrived that it had been cancelled.

Kelley, Alex and Susan Harrell - our old friends came by to watch the game.  More Harrells

We stopped by Eurosport HQ in Hillsborough, NC on the way home.  Turns out they were closed to customers on Sundays,
although they had pople there fulfilling catalog orders.  A nice gentleman came out and gave John and teammate Evan some catalogs.

Another stop on the drive home: Jimmy's BBQ in Lexington, NC.  We had to stop - they already had another green Subaru!  We loved the food and the authentic decor - check out the fish clock - but Evan didn't like having his Mallomar get stuck in the machine - twice!  He eventually got it and enjoyed a new taste sensation.
